Matt Hepworth is a Junior Researcher at the Researchlab Autonomous Shipping (RAS). Matt began working in the field of autonomous shipping during his master studies in Mechanical Engineering, researching autonomous collision avoidance using stereovision. After graduating from the department of Maritime and Transport Technology, he was invited to continue working within the RAS. Amongst other activities in the lab he works on the AVATAR project where he is focusing on developing a platooning strategy for urban vessels using computer vision and AI.
