Yusong Pang has a BSc degree of Electrical Engineering in Process Automation and an MSc degree in Automatic Measurement and Control. In 2000, Yusong was invited by the section Data and Knowledge Systems of faculty Information Technology at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) to carry out research projects of Knowledge-based Systems, working in the industrial cooperation of companies including DSM, Phillips lighting, Corus (Tatasteel), etc. In 2003, Yusong joined the section of Transport Engineering and Logistics (TEL) of faculty Mechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineering at TU Delft where he started his PhD research in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems. After three years working at the Advisory Group of Industrial Installations, Royal Haskoning Nederland B.V., in 2010 Yusong received the full-time position at the section TEL at TU Delft as an assistant professor. His research interests fall into the automation, monitoring and intelligent control for large scale transport technology and logistics. Yusong is currently responsible for the TU Delft RFID Research and Realization (TUD3R) Laboratory and the Belt Conveyor Laboratory. From 2020 Yusong is leading the work package of operation and testing in the Interreg North Sea Region project AVATAR – Sustainable Urban Freight Transport with Autonomous Zero-emission Vessels.
