I obtained my Master’s degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece in September of 2020. Since October, I am a PhD candidate in the Transport Engineering and Logistics section od the MTT department at TU Delft. My PhD concerns the automation transition path that sea vessels are currently undergoing with the addition of new equipment, replacement of on-board machinery and the future vision for full autonomy. In particular, I am investigating the employment of distributed and plug-and-play control architectures to enhance the modularity and scalability of low-level marine control systems. Moreover, I am interested in applying fault tolerant control techniques and remote monitoring technologies to these systems in order to increase their safety and versatility during operation. In my work, I am supervised by Prof. Rudy R. Negenborn and Dr. Vasso Reppa.
Key areas of Focus/Expertise
  • Distributed control
  • Fault tolerant control
  • Plug-and-play control
  • Intelligent marine vessels
